September 6, 1936 – December 6, 2025
Beatrice B. Perez, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, entered eternal rest on December 6, 2025, at the age of 89. She was born on September 6, 1936, in Berclair, Texas, to Julian and Wenseslada Baldillez of Beeville, Texas. Her father, a World War II veteran, worked for the Catholic Church, while her mother was a homemaker.
As the eldest of seven children, Beatrice learned resilience at an early age. Her childhood was marked by absence and anticipation when her father left for war. She vividly remembered the sound of trains bringing uniformed men with difficult news. One day, two men approached her home, and the family braced for the worst. That day, they learned her father had been injured, a moment that shaped her strength and fortitude.
Mom attended A.C. Jones High School and married Maclovio (Mac) N. Perez, whom she first met while picking cotton. Together, they shared seventy years of marriage, a union that stood as a testament to endurance, commitment, and love. Their greatest joy was the family they built.
Beatrice was the proud mother of seven daughters: Belinda Varela (Victor), Sylvia Doyle (Bud), Ninfa (Bill), Diana Perez, Lisa King, Martha Anhalt (Kinny), and Theresa Yvette Bazan (Albert). Though Mac’s work took them to several cities and towns, Houston, Texas, became home for the Perez family. For the most part, Beatrice was a stay-at-home mother, though she also held several jobs throughout her life. Together, she and Mac were blessed with 12 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
Beatrice was tough and no-nonsense, with a sharp wit and a sassy spirit. At home, she was strict and firm, instilling discipline that shaped her daughters’ lives. She carried herself with confidence and style, leaving a lasting impression on everyone she met. Her daughters received the very best of her, a living model of perseverance, resilience, and determination. Remarkably intelligent and resourceful, she always found ways to adapt to life’s challenges.
Mom had many roles in her life, and her perseverance became the cornerstone of our spiritual foundation. One of her greatest gifts to her family was faith. She introduced her daughters to the Catholic Church, ensured they received their sacraments, and planted seeds of belief that continue to bless and guide their lives today.
