Bellville

Billie Mae Maness, a cherished member of her family and community, was born on June 1, 1945, in Jacksonville, Texas. She passed away peacefully on March 26, 2025, in Sealy, Texas, surrounded by the love that she had cultivated throughout her lifetime. Billie was a loving soul, leaving behind a legacy filled with warmth, kindness, and countless memories. Billie graduated from Milby High School in Houston, embarking on a path that led her to become a dedicated Office Manager for the Texas Department of Transportation. Her professional life was marked by her unwavering commitment to excellence and service. However, it was her role as a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother that defined her true accomplishments and brought her greatest joy. Billie's spirit thrived not only in her professional pursuits but also in her many hobbies and interests. She had a passion for reading and journaling, often using her pen to express thoughts and reflections that resonated with her heart. Billie’s passion for working with ceramics and making her family Christmas ornaments is something that can be passed down from generation to generation. Her culinary talents were equally impressive, with family gatherings often featuring her delicious dishes. Billie was also a proud HAM radio operator, demonstrating her adventurous spirit and eagerness to connect with others. Her dedication to her faith was evident through her service at Shepherd's Way Church in Sealy, where she taught children’s church for many years. This experience brought her immense pride, having touched the lives of so many children and contributing to their spiritual growth. Billie's family was her greatest treasure. She is survived by her beloved daughter, Wanda (Victor) Brast, her devoted son, Tommy Maness, and her sister, Rita Anderson. Billie’s legacy continues through her grandsons, Danny (Cortney) Brast, Josh (Chante) Brast, and Tieran Maness. The joy in her heart grew with the laughter and smiles of her great-grandchildren: Raelynn, Maddox, Mackenzie, Bailey, Jaxton, and Jrue. Each carried a piece of her spirit, which will live on for generations. Billie was preceded in death by her loving husband, Tommie Maness, her parents, Billy and Jessie Sanford, her brother, Johnny Sanford, and her daughter-in-law, Kathleen Maness. Their memories were a guiding light in her life, reminding her of the enduring bonds of family and love. As we remember Billie Mae Maness, we celebrate a life filled with love, laughter, and an unwavering commitment to those she cherished. Her presence will be deeply missed, yet her impact remains forever etched in the hearts of all who knew her.
