Bellville

Carl Ernst Weige, a beloved family man and dedicated mechanic, passed away on June 6, 2025, in Bellville, Texas. He was born on January 16, 1944, in New Ulm, Texas, and proudly served in the United States Air Force, where he became an airframe repairman, repairing planes damaged in combat during his deployment to Vietnam. His military service was a source of immense pride for him, reflecting his deep love for his country. After his honorable discharge from the military, Carl chose to pursue a career as a mechanic. He began turning wrenches in the auto industry, working at numerous dealerships in and around Houston. With years of experience under his belt, he transitioned into heavy equipment mechanics, traveling to various locations for work, including a coal mine in Carlos and a gold mine in Arizona. His adventurous spirit even took him to Germany, where he had the opportunity to teach others how to set up machinery for mining projects.

Carl was an individual of remarkable character, known for his always-smiling demeanor, kindness, and selflessness. He never met a stranger, earning the affection and respect of those who encountered him. His hobbies included country dancing, riding his Harley, and tending to his cherished rose bushes—activities that brought him joy and allowed him to connect with others.

He is survived by his daughter, Georgina Courtney; son, John (Melissa) Weige; son, Raymond "Bubba" (Donna Wright) Janosky; daughter, Kimberly Janosky; and grandchildren Kyle (Rachel) Cox, Aaron (Samantha) Courtney, Hope Courtney, Peter Courtney, Faith Courtney; great-grandchildren, Jaxen Courtney, Konner Courtney, Peyton Courtney, Serenity Darnell, Charlotte Allen, Austin Weige, Cody Weige, and Parker Cox. He also leaves behind his brothers, David (Cathy) Weige and Bobby (Cristine) Weige; brother-in-law Wesley (Kristin) Nance; and a host of other relatives and dear friends.

Carl was preceded in death by his devoted wife, Kathrine Nance Weige (Janosky); his parents, Jesse and LaVerne Weige; his son, Scott Janosky; daughter-in-law, Charlene Janosky; son-in-law, Michael Courtney; and his great-granddaughter, Olivia.

A special thank you to Rachel Cox, Mark Bolten and family, the late James Hubbs, and Carl’s nephews: Travis, Eric, Brandon, Derek, Chance, and Dillon.

Carl's legacy of love, laughter, and commitment to family and country will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
