It is with profound sorrow and heartfelt respect that we announce the passing of Chanea Joyce Mourette Grisham, who left this life on March 13, 2026, in Houston, Texas. Born on January 23, 1991, in Rosenberg, Texas, and shaped by her childhood in Columbus, Chanea became a radiant presence whose spirit touched and uplifted everyone around her.

Chanea was deeply committed to her family and passionate in lending a helping hand to friends or those especially in need. Beyond her deep faith in family, she was dedicated to her two horses-Reville & Justice along with her dog, Hunter. With help from her Nana, Chanea recently joined Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) and United Daughters of the Confederacy (UDC), and was working with her horse as a mounted flag bearer to participate in the upcoming 4th of July parade.

Known for her radiant spirit, sharp insight, and the fierce spark, Chanea left an imprint on every life she touched. The compassion and energy she brought into a room was undeniable, and she met each day with a resolve that refused to bend. Those who knew her felt the force of her presence—steady, bright, and unforgettable.

Chanea's family was central to her life, and she leaves behind a cherished circle of loved ones. She is survived by her father, Edward Charles Grisham; her loving mother, Lora Ann Thye; and her caring bonus dad, Patrick Bubela. Her partner Bryan Varnon. Brothers, Cody Grisham and bonus brother Dalton Bubela, also carry her memory forward. She was a treasured aunt to her nephews, Colt, Case, Angus, and Bently, who brought immense joy to her life.

Her extended family includes her grandparents, Dave and Judy Zachmeyer; her uncles and aunts, Brian (Deb) Thye, Chuck Zachmeyer, Chris (Heather) Zachmeyer, Lori Zachmeyer, Margaret Zachmeyer, Pam (Ronnie Brown) Grisham, and Lisa (Randy) Mellman; her cousins, Erika, Tyler, Jacob, and Gabriel; as well as many others who hold her in loving remembrance.

Chanea was preceded in death by her grandparents, Charles and Helen Grisham, and her grandfather, Henry Thye, whose memories she cherished deeply.

We feel the deep void her passing leaves behind, yet we hold close the way she moved through life with a giving heart, strong will and grit, and an unmistakable spark that left its mark on everyone around her. We remember the quiet kindness she offered so effortlessly, the way she stepped into the lives of others with sincerity and a steady, open heart. These moments gather into the story of who she was—steadfast, generous, and ever‑present for those she loved. Even in her absence, her spirit lingers like a gentle light, shining through the lives she touched.

May Chanea Joyce Mourette Grisham rest in everlasting peace, carried by the fierce determination that guided her life and the deep admiration her spirit continues to inspire.
