Christopher Lane Kapla Sr. a devoted family man and respected professional, passed away unexpectedly on March 15, 2026, in Villa Rica, Georgia. Born on May 10, 1972, in Farmington Hills, Michigan, Christopher was known for his infectious smile and a zest for life that endeared him to all who knew him.

Christopher graduated high school and forged a distinguished career as an Area Manager for the Wal-Mart Distribution Center in Sealy, Texas. His dedication and leadership were evident in every aspect of his work. Beyond his professional accomplishments, Christopher's proudest moments were those spent with his grandsons, Dallas and Dakota. A diehard Dallas Cowboys fan, he found joy in watching wrestling and cherished spending quality time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Shannon Kapla, and their children: DJ (Shadoe) Kapla Johnson, Mackenzie Kapla, and Christopher Kapla, Jr. Christopher leaves behind his treasured grandsons, Dallas and Dakota, who brought immense happiness into his life. He is also survived by his mother, Evelyn Marie Andrus (Steve)Frazier; father, David Charles Kapla; Stepfather- in- law Dewayne Hearndon; mother figure Cindy Jones; brothers Steve Kapla and Jody (Carolynn O’Connor, Dave(Dana)Kapla, Jeremy(Heather)Kapla; and sisters-in-law Sheila (John) Smith, Suzzette (Dennis) Zapalac, and Danielle (Alfredo) Alvarado, Tammy (Mace) Konarik. Brothers Henry and Mike Jones; Sisters Jamie Anderson and Amanda Jones. His extended family includes numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many dear friends who will deeply miss his presence.

Christopher was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Mary Hearndon; father-in-law, Daniel Krause; and beloved grandmother, Carolina “Mimo” Cevallos. Father figure James Jones.

A visitation to honor Christopher will be held on March 23, 2026, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Schmidt Funeral Home - Bellville, located at 12029 Hwy 36 S, PO Box 610, Bellville, TX 77418. Following the visitation, a funeral service will commence at 11:00 a.m. The ceremonies will conclude with a graveside service at Sealy Cemetery, 768 4th Street, Sealy, TX 77474, starting at 12:00 p.m.

Pallbearers are Christopher Kapla Jr., Steve Kapla, Jody O'Connor, Shadoe Johnson, John Smith l, John Smith ll.

Honorary Pallbearers are Andrea Weishuhn, Dallas Johnson, and Dakota Johnson.
