- Cynthia Baggett Scott, a cherished social worker, beloved cousin, wife, mother, and devoted friend,
- was born on March 13, 1948, in an era marked by hope and change. She spent her last moments on
- July 11, 2025, in Cypress, Texas, leaving behind a legacy of compassion and commitment to her
- community.
- Cynthia dedicated her career to serving others as a social worker for the State of Texas. Her
- unwavering support for those in need was a testament to her nurturing spirit, and she made a lasting
- impact on countless lives throughout her professional journey. Alongside her career, Cynthia also
- found joy in participating in Community Bible Study, where she nurtured her faith and friendships.
- A graduate of Arlington High School and the University of Arkansas, Cynthia exemplified the values
- of hard work and determination. Her love for learning was matched only by her passions outside of
- her professional life. She cherished antiquing, tending to her beautiful garden, and caring for her
- beloved pets—her dogs Finn and Honeybear, along with her gentle cat Henry. These simple
- pleasures brought joy to her life, framing a woman who was as multifaceted as she was kind.
- Cynthia is survived by her cousins: Patti (Emory) Estes, Terry Valentine, Billy Johnson, and Jeannie
- Bridges, along with numerous other relatives and dear friends, who will remember her warmth and
- generosity.
- She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Allen Scott; her son, Joshua Freeborn; and her
- parents, William and Louise (Johnson) Baggett. Each of these losses is felt deeply by all who knew
- her.
- As we celebrate her extraordinary life, let us remember and carry forward the kindness and dedication she displayed throughout her years.
