Debra Ann Chase, a talented graphic designer at Drapela Works and a cherished member of her community, was born on September 12, 1988, in Bellville, Texas. Tragically, she passed unexpectedly on August 1, 2025, in Nada, Texas, while being 36 weeks pregnant with her beloved son.
Debra's educational journey culminated in her graduation from Sealy High School, which served as a foundation for her flourishing career. As a graphic designer, she poured her creativity into her work, leaving a lasting impact on those who collaborated with her.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Debra was a devoted mother to her son, Owen, who was undoubtedly her proudest achievement. She embraced the joys of motherhood with open arms and looked forward to welcoming her new baby boy Dean Thomas.
Debra's life was rich with interests that reflected her vibrant spirit. She found solace in fishing and expressed herself passionately through art, pursuits that delighted her and those around her.
Debra is survived by her loving son, Owen Chase, and her significant other, Thomas Drapela, Jr. She also leaves behind her mother, Helen Pomikal, married to Ben; her brother, Buddy Chase, married to Faith; her sister, Felicia Horsley, married to Brian; and her maternal grandmother, Grace Maresh. her aunts and uncles, Ruth (John) Shedd, Brenda Draehn, Aaron "Bubba" (Rachael) Maresh, and Justin (Terri) Maresh. The warmth of her family extended to numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends, all of whom will carry her memory forward.
Debra joins her father, Erlan "Rusty" Chase; her maternal grandfather, David Maresh; and her paternal grandparents, Waland and Melba Chase, in eternal rest.
A Celebration of Life will be held to honor Debra's memory on August 16, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Cat Spring Agriculture Society Hall located at 13035 Hall Road, Cat Spring, TX 78933.
