Dell Fitt Hines

Dell Irene Fitt Hines, a Registered Nurse and beloved family member, peacefully departed this life on December 5, 2025, in Burnet, Texas. Born on July 31, 1936, in Austin County, Texas. Dell’s lifelong commitment to caring for others was evident from an early age, culminating in her graduation from Cypress-Fairbanks High School and earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Dominican College.

Throughout her life, Dell exemplified the qualities of an outgoing and compassionate individual, deeply dedicated to caring for people in both her professional and personal life. Her nurturing spirit extended beyond her nursing career, where she made a lasting impact on many. She flourished in her personal interests as well. She loved playing golf, enjoyed trips to the casinos, and found joy tending to her garden and flowers.

Dell is survived by her loving sons: Kevin Troy Hines and Charles Browning Hines; and her Grandchild, Royston Alexander Hines. She also leaves behind her siblings: Margie Caffey (Charles Caffey); Charles Fitt (Cindy Fitt), and her sister-in-law, Dorothy Fitt. Her nephew Johnny Fitt, Jr. (Susie Fitt), and nieces: Mitzi McAfee (Billy McAfee), and Jessica Fitt Baker (Kreskin Williams). Dell also took immense pride in her great nieces and nephews: Gus Baker, Carson Baker, Amy Hroch, and Ashten McAfee.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charles Hines; her parents, Gussie Charles Fitt and Virgie Baranowski Fitt; and her brother, Johnny Fitt. Their memories will forever be intertwined with hers, a testament to the richness of her life and depth of her love.

In honoring Dell’s life, a Mass will be held on December 16, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. The church is located at 936 South Front Street, Bellville, Texas. Following the Mass, interment at Oak Knoll Cemetery, South Mechanic Street, Bellville, Texas, will allow family and friends to pay their final respects at 12:30 p.m.

Dell Irene Hines leaves behind a legacy of compassion, love, and strength. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to know her.
