Denice Michelle (LaFerney) Kasprowicz

December 25, 1948 – April 26, 2025

With grace and love, Denice Michelle (LaFerney) Kasprowicz passed away on April 26, 2025, at the age of 76. Born on Christmas Day in 1948 in Brenham, Texas, Denice was a radiant presence in the lives of all who knew her. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend.

Denice graduated from Brenham High School, setting the stage for a life filled with curiosity, resilience, and service. Her early years were shaped by growing up on a dairy farm, participating in Girl Scouts, and riding her beloved horse. She embraced opportunities to learn and grow, beginning her working life as a candy striper at St. Jude Hospital and a waitress at the Petticoat Junction truck stop. She was a cherished sister to Lewis LaFerney and Robert LaFerney, and family ties were a source of strength throughout her life.

While working at Rose Bowl Lanes, Denice helped coach the Blinn Bowling team and met the love of her life, Charles Kasprowicz. Together, they shared a passion for bowling, competing in Texas Ten Pin tournaments for many years. Their partnership extended into their professional lives, where Denice thrived in construction and remodeling, becoming a skilled draftsman. Later, she worked at Laves Jewelry in Carthage, Texas, while running her own business selling cosmetics and health supplements. She volunteered countless hours for various pursuits at St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Brenham and St. William of Vercelli Catholic Church of Carthage, including building committees, ladies’ societies, and fundraisers. She is lovingly remembered for uplifting others with her beautiful singing voice. Before retiring, she again joined Charles on several out-of-state projects while employed by Optimized Process Designs.

Denice’s greatest joy was her family. She was a devoted mother to Angella (Heath) Kemper, Mike (Cassie) Kasprowicz, and Edward (Jessica) Kasprowicz. Her children remember her unwavering support, boundless energy, and deep commitment to service. It was not uncommon to find Denice directing a church choir, hanging wallpaper, drafting home plans, organizing school fundraisers, chaperoning events, and singing for the sick, all while nurturing her children and their friends with love and encouragement.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charles Kasprowicz, and her parents, Oley and Edna (Patricia) LaFerney. Though they are no longer here, their memory lives on in the stories and love Denice carried forward.

Her legacy continues through her grandchildren—Nick (Hailey), Noah (Callie), Carson, Brianna (Hunter), Luke, Lane, Ava, Todd, and Mia—and her great-grandchildren, Keagan and Jude. Each of them holds dear the memories of their Nana, whose laughter, wisdom, and warmth will forever echo in their hearts.

Denice approached every day with optimism and compassion. Her loved ones leaned on her for guidance and comfort, and she met life’s challenges with grace and determination. Her presence was a steady light in the lives of many. She will be remembered for her loving heart, tireless devotion to family, and joyful embrace of life. Though Denice’s presence will be deeply missed, her spirit lives on in every life she touched, every song she sang, and every act of kindness she inspired.
