Irene Pecha Herreth, a beloved matriarch and cherished friend, peacefully departed this world on July 14, 2025, in Bellville, Texas, at the age of 94. Born on August 3, 1930, in Midfield, Texas, Irene was a beacon of love, kindness, and warmth in the lives of everyone who had the privilege to know her.
Irene's journey through life was marked by her unwavering devotion to family and community. She proudly graduated from Blessing High School, a foundation that paved the way for her to embrace the love of learning and nurturing that defined her character. Married to her cherished husband, Carl Herreth, for 66 years, she created a loving home where family values flourished, and laughter echoed through the halls. Throughout her life, Irene was not only a dedicated wife but also a nurturing mother to her five children: Carl Herreth, Jr., Tony (Marty) Herreth, Carol Courville, David (Janice) Herreth, and John Herreth. With twelve grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren, her legacy of love and strength will continue to thrive through generations. Each family gathering was filled with her delicious cooking, especially her famous baked goods and garden preserves, which she often shared with family and friends. Irene embraced her passions wholeheartedly. A talented seamstress and gardener, she spent countless hours tending to her flower beds and cultivating her garden. Her zeal for pickling garden vegetables and creating preserves turned her kitchen into a haven of warmth and aromas that brought joy to all who entered. Irene's hands, skilled and loving, turned simple ingredients into treasured dishes that became staples during family gatherings.
Beyond her family life, Irene was a devoted member of the Bellville Methodist Church and actively participated in the Cancer Angels. Her compassionate spirit and service to those in need reflected her deep commitment to her community, where she made lasting impacts on many lives.
She is survived by her daughter, Carol Courville; sons, Carl Herreth, Jr., Tony (Marty) Herreth, David (Janice) Herreth, and John Herreth; twelve grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; and sister, Evelyn Bures.
