Isabel Hernandez Coll, a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother, and a cherished member of her community, passed away on June 1, 2026, in Katy, Texas. Born on October 23, 1965, in the vibrant city of Ponce, Puerto Rico, Isabel's journey through life was marked by unwavering faith, dedication to service, and a spirit that touched all who knew her.

Isabel’s professional life was defined by her compassionate care and commitment as a floor secretary for pre-and post-operative patients at West Houston Methodist Hospital. Her role was integral to the hospital’s mission, as she provided comfort and reliable support during vulnerable moments for patients and their families. This dedication was no doubt inspired by the steadfastness and resilience she cultivated through a life of varied experiences and a deep spiritual foundation.

Her academic pursuits were equally impressive; having earned her bachelor’s degree in Hospital Administration, Isabel was actively engaged in advancing her education through a Master's Degree program in Theology and Biblical Studies until the time she departed to be with the Lord. This passion for knowledge and understanding was a reflection of her profound commitment to her faith and personal growth. Throughout her life, Isabel served at church in multiple ministries, including the Lakewood Church Choir, Regional Life Group leader, Women’s Ministry, Prayer Partner Ministry, Lakewood Hospital Ministry, and Living Hope Chaplaincy.

Isabel’s life was a tapestry woven with the threads of love and sacrifice. Married on November 19, 1983 to Axel Coll, after meeting in their beloved Puerto Rico, the couple navigated a life shaped by military service. This journey took them through the diverse landscapes of Oklahoma, Virginia, Germany, Georgia, Hawaii, and ultimately to their cherished home in Brookshire, Texas. Through every relocation and challenge, Isabel remained a pillar of strength and warmth, her home a haven of kindness and hospitality.

Her generous spirit extended beyond her home and workplace. She devoted her life to serving numerous ministries at her church, becoming a dependable presence and a beacon of hope for many. Those who relied on her found in Isabel a steadfast friend, a compassionate listener, and a joyful soul whose faith was a guiding light.

Isabel is survived by her beloved husband, Axel Coll; her two sons, Axel Coll Jr. and his wife, Kathy; and her treasured grandchildren, Alessandra Kate and Adrian Levy. John Coll and his fiancée, Alicia. She also leaves behind her siblings, Julia, Helen, Lilian, Rafael, Rosemary, and Manuel, whom she loved and prayed for daily.

She was preceded in death by both of her parents, Rafael Hernandez and Carmen Julia Acevedo, whose memories she held dear throughout her life.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the Jones Family, Nolasco Family, Ortega Family, Galvan Family, Coca Family, Gonzalez Family, Chavez Family, and the Lakewood Church Family for their spiritual support and friendship during this time.

Isabel Hernandez Coll’s life was a testament to devotion to family, faith, and community. Her enduring legacy will remain in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her, as they remember a woman whose quiet strength and compassionate spirit left an indelible mark on the world around her. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered. Although we are going to miss her earthly presence, we know that today, she is with our Heavenly Father, rejoicing for eternity.
