Joyce Ann Hohlt Koehn

Joyce Ann Koehn, a lifelong resident of Austin County, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, on her 88th birthday. Born on August 18, 1938, in Bleiberville, Texas, Joyce spent a wonderful life in Bellville. She graduated from Bellville High School in 1956, and on June 14, 1959, she married her high school sweetheart, Walter Leedy Koehn, at St. John's Lutheran Church. 

Joyce was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose world revolved around her family and friends. Whether traveling, celebrating a holiday, or attending her grandchildren's many activities, Joyce cherished every moment spent together. She shared a special bond with her three sisters and treasured the times she spent with them and her brothers-in-law. Joyce also leaves behind a legacy of deep friendships, delighting in social gatherings and playing bridge with her girlfriends. 

Joyce is survived by her loving family, including Mark and Chris Koehn, Mike and Kim Koehn, and Candy and Brandt Wilke; grandchildren Stephen and Maggie Koehn, Carly and Joey Secor, Hohlt Koehn, Allison and Jordan Wynn, Anna Wilke, and Grace Wilke; and great-grandchildren Wiley Secor, Charlotte Wynn, and Elizabeth Wynn. She is also survived by her sister, Judith Marshall; her nieces and nephews, Chris LaVergne, Hugh Marshall, Benjamin Marshall, Patty Kim Jackson, Cheryl Sackett, and their families. She was called home to the Lord, reunited with her husband, Walter L. Koehn; her parents, Ben and Sadie Hohlt; her sisters, Janie Mewis and Janet LaVergne; her brothers-in-law, Bubba Mewis and Joe LaVergne; and her parents-in-law, Walter H. and Lucille Koehn. 

A celebration of Joyce's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, at Bellville Methodist Church, followed by a visitation and reception.
