Larry Wayne Damborsky

Larry Wayne Damborsky passed away peacefully on August 7, 2026, in Richmond, Texas, leaving behind a loving family and a legacy of faith, service, dedication, and love.

Born on January 15, 1946, in El Campo, Texas, Larry lived a life marked by steadfast commitment—to his faith in Jesus Christ, his family, his profession, and the passions that brought him joy.

Larry grew up with a lifelong love of sports, playing both football and baseball at Colorado City High School. His enthusiasm for athletics remained a meaningful part of his life, whether he was cheering on the Houston Astros or enjoying a round of golf. For Larry, sports were more than a pastime; they were a source of camaraderie, joy, and connection with friends and family.

On July 19, 1969, Larry married the love of his life, Patty, in La Grange, Texas. Together, they built a life and family grounded in love, faith, and devotion to one another.

Larry’s strong sense of duty and honor led him to a distinguished career as a state trooper, where he served his community with integrity, courage, and resolve. That same dedication and work ethic later led him into the auto finance industry, where he continued to build lasting relationships and serve others with professionalism and care. His commitment to serving others extended beyond his professional life. Larry was also a Mason for more than fifty years, faithfully upholding the values of brotherhood, service, and fellowship that reflected the character by which he lived.

Above all, Larry’s life was centered on his faith in the Lord and his family. He was a devoted Christian, husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his beloved wife, Patty Damborsky, who stood faithfully by his side through every chapter of their life together.

He is also survived by his son, Matt Damborsky, and daughter-in-law, Lori Damborsky; his daughter, Kristen Beck, and son-in-law, Brand Beck; and his son, David Damborsky. His children will carry forward his legacy of faith, love, strength, and dedication.

Larry was a devoted grandfather to Allie, Payton, and Brock, who brought him immense joy and pride. His love for his family was evident in the time he spent with them and in the lasting example he provided through the way he lived his life.

Larry’s strong sense of family also extended to his siblings. He is survived by his brother, James Damborsky, and sister-in-law, Bonnie Damborsky; and his sister, Nancy Stevens, and brother-in-law, Charlie Stevens. The enduring bonds he shared with them reflected his loyalty and the importance he placed on family.

Those who knew Larry Wayne Damborsky will remember him as a man of principle, warmth, generosity, and unwavering faith. His commitment to his community, love for his family, and appreciation for life’s simple pleasures will remain an inspiration to all who had the privilege of knowing him.

He will be deeply missed and forever cherished by his family, friends, and all whose lives he touched. His faith, love, and example will live on through the family and community he leaves behind.

Their love and dedication brought comfort to Larry and his family, and they will always be deeply grateful for the special care they provided.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at St. John’s Masonic Lodge #5 in West Columbia, TX from 2:00 to 4:00 pm.
