Larry Mikeska, age 62, of Bellville, passed away on August 27th, 2026, from a two-year battle with colon cancer. He was born on August 7th, 1964, to parents Johnnie and Elsie Mikeska. He was soon accompanied by a little sister: Theresa Mikeska (now Roulston). He attended Bellville High School, but most of his affection and attention was focused on life at home, seeing as from a young age he was an avid outdoorsman. The majority of his waking hours were spent hunting, fishing, tending cattle, or walking in the woods.
He attended Texas A&M University and graduated with a B.S. in agricultural economics. He has worked various jobs, including owning his own heavy machinery business, owning a title company, and most recently, he served as a foreman for Austin County Precinct 1.
Larry had two kids, Caleb and Beth, who were his pride and joy, and anyone who knew him would describe him as a devoted family man. His family was his world, and when he married his loving wife Stephanie in 2016, she too became a huge part of his world.
Larry is preceded in death by his parents, Elsie Mae Bravenec Mikeska and Johnnie William Mikeska Jr., and grandparents John W. Mikeska Sr., Malada Mikeska, Jerry Bravenec, and Alvina Bravenec.
Larry is survived by his sister, Theresa Roulston and Theresa’s husband, Todd Roulston; son Caleb Mikeska and Caleb’s wife Colleen Mikeska; daughter Beth Mikeska; and grandsons Knox Mikeska and Baker Mikeska, all of whom he loved dearly.
He is also survived by his beloved wife Stephanie Mikeska, five stepchildren, Brianna Noviskie, Russel Coleman, Axel Coleman, Katie Falk, and Kortney Falk, and two stepgrandchildren, Whitley and Holly Noviskie, whom he also loved dearly.
His passion for older, slower ways of life, his appreciation for the beauty and wonder of the outdoors, the way he showed up for those he loved, and his remarkable strength in the midst of difficulties (including cancer) will be fondly remembered and emulated by those he leaves behind.
Pallbearers are Caleb Mikeska, James Spacek, David Sebesta, Wayne Peschel, Todd Roulston, and Ron Smensey.
Honorary Pallbearers are his Co-Workers from Austin County Pct. 1 Road and Bridge, Russell Coleman and Axel Coleman.
