Bellville

Mildred “Mickie” Huebner, a beloved homemaker and devoted grandmother, passed away in Tomball, Texas, on July 21, 2025, at the age of 102. Born on December 4, 1922, in Industry, Texas, Mickie grew up in the same community she would continue to serve throughout her life. She attended Business College in Houston and married her husband Milton at the Industry Methodist Church, where they would later contribute significantly to the church’s legacy and the town’s historical preservation.

Mickie was a nurturing presence in the lives of those around her. She was deeply involved in her husband’s home insulation business, Eagle Insulators, supporting him in building not just a livelihood but a family together. A proud helper at her church, she dedicated countless hours teaching Sunday school and participating in circle groups, as well as assisting with the Boy Scouts, leaving a lasting impact on her community.

Mickie’s talents extended into her kitchen, where she was renowned for her cooking and baking skills. She delighted her family with her famous angel food cake, German butter cookies, and her prized canned dill pickles and orange slice squares—treats that will be fondly remembered by all who enjoyed them.

Throughout her life, Mickie made significant contributions to her community through her charitable donations to the Industry Historical Society, City Hall, and City Park. Together with Milton, she played a pivotal role in restoring the Old Original Methodist Church, ensuring that the landmarks would be cherished for generations to come. Her spirit of giving and dedication to preserving history exemplified her sweet and loving personality.

Mickie is survived by her daughter, Betty Bass, and son-in-law Doug, who reside in Houston; her cherished grandchildren, Kevin Bass and his wife Holly in Industry, and Kelly Eck and her husband Dylan in Queen Creek, Arizona; and great-grandchildren Grace Bass, Drew Bass, Kyle Eck, and Easton Eck, who brought endless joy to her life.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Milton, her son Philip Milton Huebner, her parents Louis Niebuhr and Alma Leifeste, as well as her sisters Lorena Heyer, Estelle Hollman, and Elinor Porter. Mickie is also remembered fondly by numerous nieces and nephews who cherished her legacy of love and kindness.

The family expresses their heartfelt appreciation for the care given to Mickie by Sophie Hersi, Yolanda Smith, Donna Pineset, and Jummie Folorunso during the last 12 years. Mickie Huebner will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her unwavering love for her family, her contributions to her community, and her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
