Robert (Bob) R. Mack Jr., beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love, wisdom, and quiet strength. Born on June 7, 1942, in Eagle Pass, Texas, Robert’s journey began in the warm heart of a close-knit community where he was raised and educated. He graduated from Eagle Pass High School, carrying with him the values of hard work and dedication that would guide him throughout his life.
It was in Eagle Pass that Robert met the love of his life, Maria Guadalupe Ruiz. Their bond, built on mutual respect and unwavering devotion, blossomed into a beautiful marriage that spanned an extraordinary 62 years. Together, they raised three children—Robert, Bill, and Sandra—each of whom inherited their father’s integrity, intellect, and quiet kindness.
A gifted mind with a passion for numbers, Robert earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics from the University of Houston. His career in computer programming was marked by excellence and innovation. As a senior computer programmer, he made lasting contributions to companies such as Shell, MW Kellogg, Brown & Root, and McDermott, earning the respect and admiration of colleagues across the industry.
Robert’s professional success was matched only by the joy he found in his family. He and Maria built a loving home in the cities of Plano, Houston, and Katy before settling in Sealy, Texas—a place that became a peaceful haven in their later years.
Robert had a gentle heart, not only for people but for animals as well. Throughout his life, he shared a deep bond with the family pets—dogs and cats who were not just companions, but cherished members of the household. He had a quiet, patient way with them, often found sharing a recliner with a snoozing pup or sneaking treats under the table. His affection for animals reflected his overall spirit: kind, loyal, and full of quiet compassion.
He is survived by his cherished wife, Maria Guadalupe Mack; his devoted children: Robert Mack and wife Diana and their two daughters, Tatiana and Eliana; Bill Mack and partner Kevin; and Sandra Hatcher and husband Brandon and their sons Ryan and Dillon. His family was his greatest pride and joy—each of them a living testament to the love and care he gave so generously.
Those who knew Robert remember his gentle demeanor, his thoughtful conversations, and his steadfast presence. He was a man of few words but deep thoughts, a quiet rock in the lives of those who loved him. His legacy lives on not only in his professional accomplishments but in the warmth of his family and the countless memories shared around dinner tables, during family celebrations, and in the everyday moments that now shine with deeper meaning.
Robert (Bob) R. Mack Jr. will be deeply missed, but his spirit will continue to guide and inspire those who were blessed to know him.
