Stephen Michael Snell
With heavy hearts, we announce the untimely passing of Stephen Michael Snell, age 41, of Sealy, Texas, who departed this world on November 6, 2025. Born on February 3, 1984, Stephen was a vibrant soul who embraced life with unparalleled enthusiasm and warmth. Stephen lived by a simple yet profound principle: whatever he did, he poured his heart into it. He was a proud Veteran of the United States Army, embodying the values of service, integrity, and commitment. This dedication was evident in every task he undertook and every relationship he cherished. He was known for his generous spirit—always willing to lend a helping hand or offer his warmth to anyone in need. Friends often remarked that he would give the shirt off his back to a stranger, and this selflessness earned him the deep respect and admiration of all who knew him. In his free time, Stephen embraced hobbies that reflected his love for life and connection with others. Whether he was hosting lively Uno games with his best friend, Diana Briones, hitting the dance floor, or belting out tunes at karaoke, his joyous laughter and infectious spirit filled any room. His affection for the outdoors was evident as he spent leisurely afternoons with Amanda Thompson and his two dogs, Cowboy and River, riding on his red tractor, zooming around on electric scooters, and igniting the grill for perfectly cooked ribs. Stephen's passion extended beyond personal enjoyment; he cherished his relationships deeply, especially with his beloved nephew, Colton. Stephen looked forward to taking Colton to Astros games and sharing his love of golf, and bonding over camping and fishing trips in Matagorda. A die-hard fan of the Dallas Cowboys, the Houston Astros, and Texas A&M, Stephen's loyalty to his teams was unwavering. His West Texas friends fondly nicknamed him "George Strait," a tribute to both his sharp style and his wonderful singing voice—qualities that made him stand out in any crowd. Stephen is survived by his mother, Gale Snell of Sealy, TX., grandmother, Jean Tarver of Brenham, TX., sister, Courtney Powers and husband Jason of Bellville, TX., nephew, Colton Powers of Bellville, TX., and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends, all who will carry his memory in their hearts forever.
He is preceded in death by his father, Robert Snell; grandfather, Donald Tarver; and grandparents, Phil and June Snell.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM, Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at Kermit Funeral Home. We invite friends and family to gather and celebrate Stephen's remarkable life with a Memorial at 5:00 PM, Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at the Kermit Funeral Home Chapel, followed by a reception where we will share stories and laughter in his honor. Robert Lee Snell
It is with great sadness and honor that we cherish the memory of Robert Lee “Bobby” Snell, who passed away on February 12, 2025, at his home in Sealy, Texas.
Bobby was born on March 24, 1954, to Phil and June Snell at Fort Rucker, Alabama. Like his Dad, Phil, Bobby enlisted in the United States Army, where he proudly served our country during the Vietnam War. After returning from the military, Bobby met the love of his life, Gale Tarver, and they married in 1977. Bobby and Gale were blessed with two children, Courtney Carloline and Stephen Michael.
Bobby is survived by his loving wife, Gale, daughter, Courtney Powers (Jason), and beloved grandson Colton Powers. Other survivors include numerous brothers and sisters, in-laws, other family members, and many friends.
Bobby is predeceased by his parents, Phil and June Snell, as well as multiple siblings. Sadly, Bobby’s son, Stephen Snell, passed away a few short months after Bobby’s passing.
Bobby was employed with Ebco General Contractors as a Superintendent, and he took great pride in the various projects he worked on. He truly loved his job and especially his co-workers, who were like family to him.
In addition to his love of the job, he also cherished his time off because he was able to spend treasured time with his grandson Colton, taking him to baseball games and tournaments. Bobby was an avid golfer, and one of the highlights of his life was teaching Colton to play golf. Bobby was a die-hard Aggie fan and took Colton to many Aggie football games.
One of Bobby’s favorite traditions was riding in the annual Salt Grass Trail Ride with his daughter Courtney. Occasionally, his son Stephen and grandson Colton joined them on the trail ride. Bobby was the salt of the earth, had the best sense of humor, and was so fun-loving. He loved music and dancing and was an all-around “good guy.” He will be fondly remembered and missed by his family and many friends. Bobby is with his Lord and Savior, but he will never be forgotten.
Visitation will be held at 10:00 AM, at The Schmidt Funeral Home in Bellville, TX., Saturday, November 15, 2025, followed by a Graveside Service at 11:00 AM, where he will be laid to rest at the Oak Knoll Cemetery.
