Vivian Myers, known by many as “BeBe”, was a devoted wife to Ralph, an amazing Mom and Mother-in-law to Rodney and Kimberley, a remarkable grandma to Kody, an incredible great grandma to Remy and Kitt, and a pleasing step grandma to Anthony and Austin. She was also an awesome sister and friend to all she met. Vivian’s life is one of creativity, compassion, and always on the go.
Vivian was born, December 09, 1950, in Rosenberg, Texas to George Haskell and Leona Patricia Goates and grew up in Simonton, Tx. On November 28, 2025, shortly after noon at her home in East Bernard, she received her angel wings when she raised her right arm to join Ralph and other family members in heaven.
Vivian Is survived by her only child, Rodney Myers and wife Kimberly, granddaughter Kody Gresham and husband Nick, grandsons Anthony Roccaforte and fiancé Melissa, Austin Mullins and wife Silja, great grandchildren Remy and Kitt Gresham, sisters Hazel Sumrall, Janie Henslee, Ruth Langenberg (James) and Jeanie Moore (Michael). In addition, she is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and Rocky (dog).
She is preceded in death by her loving husband Ralph Myers, her parents George Haskell and Leona Patricia Goates, and 2 sisters Patricia Leona Bolin, and Marie Dolphine Guzman.
BeBe grew up in the country with six siblings (all sisters) and loved spending time outside. She graduated from Lamar Consolidated in 1969, at which time she had studied and received her cosmetology licenses. In January 1970, she met the love of her life, Ralph Myers of Katy. After their first date to the motocross races in the Astrodome, they knew instantly they wanted to spend the rest of their life together. They were married just 5 months later on May 30, 1970, adding up to 55 years of marriage this year.
The family only had one major concern when the engagement occurred. That was how poor Ralph was going to survive on Bebe’s limited diet. BeBe was always a very picky eater. Her diet consisted of only chicken, potatoes, bologna, and maybe a wiener growing up. She would eat a slice of toast only if there was grape jelly on it and all the crust was removed. Her nephew’s to this day is still wonder why they always had to eat everything on their plates including the “crust” on toast and BeBe’s was always cut off. But miraculously, Ralph made strives to extend her diet to beef, pork, catfish and a couple vegetables over time. However, over the last six months of her life, her last favorite meal was little smokies and chucky fried potatoes with either a Sunkist or a Root Beer. And a nightly cup of chocolate ice cream to eat while watching the same Price is Right TV show every night.
After a thirty-year career as a hairdresser and managing beauty salons, she decided to change careers to design and engrave just about anything from trophies, to jewelry, to glass and to wood products. Before retiring she also worked in the jewelry business as well.
As a hairdresser she changed the life of one of her nephews. At around 13 years of age, Wayne had begged his parents to let him get a different hair style besides a little boy’s cut with the part on the side. He was forever told NO. After begging for several days to let BeBe style his hair, permission was granted. To this day, Wayne still talks about how he became Erik Estrada’s twin for a year or so, after the hair makeover. He loved it.
Vivian was always very creative with her hair styling as well as her crafts and engraving activities. She was forever crafting new décor for each holiday. Christmas was her favorite, and she could not wait to start this season. Vivian other pass time was to travel –--- be on the go all the time--- it did not matter where just moving in a vehicle.
We may not have any tomorrows to share with her, but we certainly have yesterday’s memories to hold until we meet again one day. There’s nothing wrong with a silent tear for a silent thought to hold next to our heart. Her light will always shine.
Services are entrusted to Schmidt Funeral Home in Brookshire, Tx.
We extend a heartfelt thank you to the Altus Hospice organization for the exceptional care and assistance they provided to the family on behalf of Vivian.
